Peace Action

On March 20, 2005 The Buddhist Peace Fellowship of Tallahassee organized an Interfaith Day of Meditation for Peace to mark the second year since the begining of the War in Iraq. We also participated in the events to mark the third year since the beginning of the war in March 2005. Hopefully we won't have to participate in a similar event in 2007.

In 2005 we were involved with the "Jizos for Peace" Initiative to help remember those who lost their lives as a result of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagaski at the end of World War II.

On Sept. 11, 2004 the Tallahassee BPF held a Circle of Peace and Healing in memory of those who suffered in the tragic events of Sept 11, 2001.

Members of the Tallahassee Buddhist Peace Fellowship sat in witness outside the FSU Civic Center
when Vice President Dick Cheney gave the commencement address to FSU graduates on May 4, 2004.
